Not surprising. I believe the replacement parts for the car alone is the biggest reason why is so expensive to insure, not necessary the average Viper owner's driving record, where he/she lives, MSRP, etc. What does it cost to replace the clamshell hood, around $20K?

"Mass Market Vehicle"....? I dont think so. They dont make THAT many more Lambo's or Ferrari's a year than Vipers!!!

a number of years ago a study of all vehicles going into a bodyshop for insurance work was done. the average of ALL cars was $2,400. The average for a Viper repair was $24,000.

I pay around $390/month for my 04 SRT -10 and progressive was the only company that would take me, due to my lead foot and excessive tickets, but who really cares, we're all loaded right?
