Coupe Owners: a favor please;

Is the gas cap cover really just a cover or is it a cap? If it was powder coated, will it still work properly considering the thickness of powder coat or is there a possibility, the coating could get chipped by its latching mechanism or hinge?

It is a cover, but has a metal type latch that would probably chip over time if it was powder coated. I guess it might depend more on how gently you are opening and closing it. My .02
