I need to replace my crankshaft in my Gen-1. I was told that a Gen-2 crank would fit in a Gen-1 block. Dimensionally the Gen-2 crank is the same, except for the crank sensor wheel. The sensor ends up in the same place, but has a different shape to it. Arrow told me that they use Gen-2 cranks in Gen-1 blocks on some rebuilds because the early cranks are unavailable. Has anyone ever herd of the cranks being interchangeable?

Thank you for the lead Jim, but I was looking to install a stroker crank. Moldex Machining makes two different size strokes for a Gen-2 crankshaft. They were just not sure about it fitting in a Gen-1. The only difference that stood out was the crank signal wheel. All the bearing journals were the same.

Has anyone seen the two cranks side by side? I have only seen pictures of the Gen-2 crank, but it looks the same as the early model. My only concern is the crank trigger wheel reaching the pick-up. Getting a measurement of the diameter of the sensor wheel should help.
