Does anyone know this viper?

Today I spotted a 1999 GTS Red w/ Silver stripes for sale by private owner. The owner said he bought it from a guy in Detroit a few months ago. It appears to be completely stock with 18,000 miles. If anyone knows about a car similar to this it would be great to hear from you. I am very interested in purchasing my first Viper. The current owner didn't seem to know much about these cars.

I test drove the car last summer. It is bone stock, original owner and was recently sold on ebay. I think the place you are looking to buy it from was looking to flip it but it looks like they are not going to do so. I knew exactly what the owner was looking to sell for and what it sold for on ebay. The car is in great condition. It is on original tires and is bone stock. Overall, it was a well driven car and the owner was a really nice guy (though he forgot to follow up with me when he decided to sell on ebay...but i bought an ACR instead so all is well). If it is in your price range, I would pull the trigger..its a clean car. The ebay listing (if you are even finding it on ebay) is exactly the same wording that the original owner used when selling.

Scary how quick you can find exact anwers on this website eh!

Thanks for the info terminator. Haha, that is scary!! I'd like to see corvette owners try and get info like that!! One of the owners just replaced the rear tires, so it probably is the same car. The only problem I noticed was that the rear license plate braket was pushed in and bent like it was hit with something. That made me a bit nervous that is was hit from the back, but everything on it looks really straight. Could you tell me what the original michigan owner was asking for the car or what it finally sold for on ebay? He is asking $35-37,000 cash.

I will give you the exact breakdown: Original owner posted on CL for 52,400 . I began discussing the reality and he bit my offer at 40k. I drove it and decided that I was going to wait because I saw a few better deals.

Later that year he mentioned "37k but 36k for u." I just decided to wait..but that was a good deal.

I randomly saw it on ebay and it sold for 35-36k I believe. So 35k is a good deal on the car. I would pull the trigger. Its a clean car with very minor chips. One is on the spoiler i believe but its very small. A LITTLE curb rash on one rim and the bottom is scraped a bit like almost every viper.
