Driver's position / Room in the footwell

Has anyone been able to decrease the left offset in the driver side footwell? I could use some room to the right; one inch would do. I know on the 08's the position is more neutral. How was this accomplished? How close is the engine/tranny in that area? Solutions?

That would be a lot of fabricating. I suggest getting your car on a lift and taking a looksie at the chassis.

Yeah, I was wondering if I could just cut, bend and re-weld a small area near where my right foot rests against the foot-well. I have moved the seat back and adjusted the pedals as far back as possible, but i still get the slight feeling of riding a bike sideways down the road. On longer drives I get a butt cramp if I don't keep repositioning. I guess it is time to lift, clean and explore.
