I was just notified by my carrier that they are raising my rates again last one was 4 months ago. I'm self employed hardly use the damn policy but my premium went up to $2,200.00 every 4 months. I even had to raise my deductable to
$ 5,000.00 per person (family of 4). Any recommendations?

I've got a $5000 ded also, but my ins is closer to 350/mo. Fortis.
But they denied a claim for basal cell carcinoma, so I guess you get waht you pay for.

Wouldn't it just be cheaper to pay the doctor cash for routine treatments? You could carry a catastropohic rider.

Get an HSA account, you have a large deductible anyway, might as well get the deduction for the amount of deductible you put in the account each year.

Usually when i mention to the billing department that i'd like to pay cash, they don't know what to do. They are use to billing a policy #.

Catastrophic, that's what I need to look into. Snipping some genital warts or fixing a broken bone isn't gonna break me, but anything over 30K starts getting out of my comfort zone.
