Calling all Vipers to the Autocross event this Sunday at the Houston Police Academy... Although this event is called the Porsche/Corvette challenge, any kind of car is invited. Come have some fun and practice so the Vipers can kick a$$ at the Porsche/Viper Challenge on Feb 18th. It's safe and lots of fun guaranteed. Let me know if you have any questions...

I plan on being there with my two Z06 buddies that you stomped a few weeks ago. It'll be my first time to the track in the Viper.

Hey Blacksnake,

Great to hear you will make it. You will be delighted at how well the Viper can take the track. Let me know if you have any questions. Are you here in Houston?

Looking forward to it. Yep, I'm in Houston... I'm going to try and talk my friend with a 96 GTS (another Houstonian) to come up there too.

Hey rschiltz,

Come on out and get some practice in. If nothing else, come watch. Feb 18th we have the Porsche/Viper shootout and we must kick but...

I'm going to have a primer class for the Feb 18th event at my house for those who might be interested. I'll be explaining what to expect and how best to drive the Viper on this type of track (from my experience). I'll be showing videos from previous events including in car and regular track shots. Let me know if you are interested. I'll post a message centering around this subject in a couple of weeks.

Below is a link to a map. Last time there was some construction on Rankin and it was easier to go to beltway 8 over to Hardy and hit Rankin there. If you look at the map below you will see that it is just about 3 miles east of the Hardy Rankin intersection. It is between Hardy and Intercontinental Airport on Rankin. You can get there from the airport side too if you are coming from that direction. Let me know if you have any questions.

You can see a small video clip of my ACR on the Houston Police Academy track at my site: http://www.jeffhelms.com/events.htm

Tracks computer went out 1/3 of the way through the first heat. Checked the website for the final numbers and they had my 55.37 time down as a DNF

Anyway, not too bad for my first time out compared to what others were pulling. Next time...
