I located a pristine 2002 GTS. Only 5000 miles. The owner wants no less then $60,000. I have looked at other cars on various sites and the prices are all over the place. This is perfect car with just smooth tubes added. Everything else is stock.

Opinions please.

LIRacer...I'm searching in great detail for my first Viper. Most of the 2002's I've seen are listed between $63k and $65k, so based on that, the price sounds ok to me. But, the best answers will come from the members here who already own Vipers. I've received great feedback from this board. So much so, that I may have to buy TWO in order to have my desires satisfied! Good luck in your search...

Price seems in the ballpark. I have an '02 GTS w/3K mis. and I need 60. I can send a pic if you want to compare.

I think the prices on GTS's are starting to rise a bit. 60k sounds good for a clean one-owner 02.

LIRacer: My suggestion to you would be refer to the Viper Registry portion of this website. then follow the BUILD INFO and SPECIFICATIONS BY YEAR links. From a resale/investment standpoint, color can mean a lot. If that's not a concern, by exactly what you like, which in the end is what you should always do anyway...

The car you refer to in your first post does not sound like a "great deal" but we don't have enough info to make a final call. I think you can probably find a 2000-5000 mile car with stripes for that money, depending on mods and color.

Color is usually the second determining factor of value, miles is the first thing everybody sells/buys by. The difference between 2001 & 2002 is nothing except miles and colors. HAVE FUN shopping and buying - I did !

I think it is a fair price. GTS prices have been on the rise and will do nothing but climb until a new coupe comes out then they will dive badly. We have all been accustomed to hearing lower prices in the last two years as the economy was in the tank and new SRT buyers dumped their RTs or GTSs. All that is over and the economy is vastly improved and getting better by the day. People who bought in the last two years got smoking deals on very lightly used GTSs. Interest rates are going up and with that other goods such as cars will see inflation in price, get em now, it's a discontinued model with no replacement in sight. Except you can't have mine unless the new coupe comes out, I'm never selling.

The price seems about right. If the car is a good one...a few thousand either way means nothing when you consider the total cost to purchase one.

I do also believe prices are holding and in some cases going up for extra clean versions.

I think that the new coupe will be very different from the gts and therefore should not affect the gts prices very much. At least I hope that this is the case.

I can give you more info....it is a Graphite 2002 without stripes. Very very clean. It is owned by a mature guy who babies it. No work other then smooth intakes, a clear bra, and smoked windows.

I am gonna take the car!

Less miles on a car will cost you. More miles less money. Do same math and see what driving the car those miles yourself will cost. Vipers are very strong cars, Unless you have money to burn. Don't let some miles scare you. IMO
