The past week my oil light has come on a couple of times, it either goes off in a few seconds or goes off when I turn off the car and restart. My oil level is fine and the pressure gauge reads normal, also no codes are thrown. I don't think there is anything really wrong with the engine, maybe a flaky sensor? What is the idiot light indicating? level? pressure? Anything I could check? Is that sensor even connected to the computer or is it stand alone?
Thanks
Bruce

There are three sensors; one for the idiot light, one for the gauge and one for the PCM.

Normally Dodge idiot lights are set for ~6-ish PSI. If the gauge is reading OK and there is no "check engine now" light I would bet it's the sensor.

I would replace the sender at once, when my idiot light started coming on the guts blew out of the sender shortly thereafter and I lost a quart of oil on a short trip.
