Pat, you are welcome to a short-term-loan of my spare 2002 manual...noting that I'm willing to overlook the "Purdue" thing. Have that extra manual from the Viper project "Purdue" ECE 492 (senior design elective)class that I sponsored/mentored for a couple of semesters at IUPUI.

Ditto to Steve's welcome to Baz! Your car and mine are kissing cousins (2001 GTS, Racing Yellow, Venzano seats). Too cool. My first mod, is to get rid of the break squeal. Everything I've read indicates that the EBC greens will get rid of it. So, I want to get the manual to get the details on a (simple) break pad replacement. I've serviced my own cars since I was 16, so break pads is not even a small deal. But... when you're working on a piece of art, you want to be VERY careful.

Thanks Steve! But, I'm a long time backyard / garage mechanic, and look forward to working on my Viper. But, I want to be very careful to do it right, as opposed to the time I rebuilt my Vega engine. So, I'm keen to get the factory service manual for my own.

Do you have any experience with Palmer Dodge North Viper mechanic? I'm looking to do a few minor (exhaust, intake) mods, but am afraid that it will void my extended DC warranty.

Looking forward to seeing your car!

Pat

One more thing, IU Steve. Ha. Ha. I was driving up Michigan Road two days ago, and encountered a Red Corvette with an IU license plate with number "Hut-2". Two guys in the car who were idling along until I came along on their right, and then they sped up to keep me from passing. When they saw the Viper, their jaws dropped. I gave it a little gas and blew by them. They sped up and followed me for a mile or so. As I turned off, they drove by giving me a "thumbs up". Obviously, top 0.1% for IU grads.

But seriously, I talked with you as I started my Viper search, and your help was key to me. Thanks so much. One day soon, we must drive up to a Purdue Football game and show off our cars! We could go to an IU game, but nobody would be there to see. :)

Best,
Pat

Hi Carl,

Whereabouts in the UK are you? I've been to London, Plymouth, and Norwich. How the heck did you get a Viper to the UK?

Regards,
Pat

Ebay has/had several service manuals online. I know a 02 was there for $55. That should also work for the 01 as well. Not sure if it sold. An 01 went for $50 a week ago.

Pat, great come-backs!!

Phil Honeycutt is the Viper Tech at Palmer Dodge North..takes care of a LOT of Vipers !!!

If you live on east side, Mike Davis is Service Mgr. AND Viper Tech at Dellen Dodge in Greenfield. These two guys are a great help to me and are VERY SUPPORTIVE of the IN/KY VCA members (including Vipers with modifications).

Again, for the short term, I'll be happy to loan you the 4 manuals for the 2002 Viper to get you by til yours come.
