We have been experimenting with an SRT for about month now. So far what we have done is fabricate 1.75" stainless headers, 3" cat back system with high flow cats, ported cylinder heads, custom air intake system and a mild camshaft that is comparable to a 96-97 cam. As of now the car dynos 534 rwhp and 525 rwtq. This is a 90 rwhp gain over stock. We will soon be trying a few other camshafts and feel confident that the car will make 575 to 600 rwhp with no changes to the factory short block. All of these upgrades are currently available installed or as mail order upgrades. The headers have 3/8" thick stainless steel flanges, 1.75" stainless primary tubes and 3" Burns merge collectors. Pictures are available upon request.

In a post a while back, someone stated that the new SRT-10 heads, box stock, out flowed even the best ported GEN II cylinder heads. In your experience with this car and development is that true?

If so, how hard would it be to adapt SRT-10 heads to a GENII? Do you plan to offer this as a performance part for GEN II in the near future, assuming that after they get up to full capacity, anyone will be able to buy SRT-10 heads over the Mopar parts counter.

Thanks,

That is not totally true. Out of the box SRT heads do flow right with ported gen 2 heads in the low lift region but ported gen 2 heads still have higher peak flow numbers. To adapt SRT heads to a gen 2 you would have to have a custom set of headers made, use SRT rocker arms, make a custom bracket to affix the power steering pump and on early gen 2 car you would have to buy the later design thermostat housing, heater hoses and heater pipes. It would not be an easy swap.
