I was comparing my dyno #'s with someone with a 1990 ZR1.... both cars were dyno'd within days of each other, at the same shop...

as posted before, my car put down 453 corrected rwhp....

his 1990 ZR1 put down 376 corrected rwhp.... he has a bunch of mods on the motor....

at the drag strip, on street tires, my GTS pulls 119-120 MPH, and his ZR1 pulls 117-118 MPH....

we took the cars out to an open highway and ran them 4 times, side by side, starting in 2nd gear..... from 40mph to about 130 or so....

you would think, the extra 75 HP I had on him would make for a nice pull....

I had a slight pull on him.... about 1 car legnth....

I'm pretty sure the cars are very similar in weight.... zr1 is 3400, and the GTS is about the same...

we were both pretty suprised.... guess peak HP on the dyno doesn't tell the whole story....

PS, he also had a 300 shot dual stage nitrous system installed.... im glad he left the bottle at home... heh..

I sold my 94 ZR-1 to help finance the 99 ACR. The ZR-1 had a few performance goodies; the Viper is a hair quicker, but no faster. I'm not at all surprised at the outcome of the subject encounter. ZR-1's are great cars that were destroyed by GM's less than notable Marketing Department.
