I have a set of Motons. Question I have is on the placement of the cylinders. It looks like you can snake the hose through to the trunk for a clean install and access. Question I have is this..Can you disconnect the hose from the shock and reconnect without doing damage or having to bleed the shock? Not sure...

Thanks.

I just read this somewhere, Oh ya it was from HISS. I take it you are installing them for him as well. I would like to know as well since I am thinking of the motons to lower my ride.

Yeah, it's Gene's Viper. The installation is simple to do. Just a little time consuming on the rear end since you have to remove the lower control arm out of the way, but other than that not that hard. I just want to know about disconnecting the hose from the shock if that would cause any issues to help with the routing of the cylinders. If I have time, I will do another pictorial of the intallation.

Oh yes, please do a step by step for the moton install. Your corsa install helped me greatly :2tu: :2tu:

You can disconnect the hoses, but you'll need to refill them with nitrogen and replace the washers.

I didn't have to move the control arm.

Really? You didn't have to remove the rear bottom control arms to take off your stock coil overs? I don't see how you could have taken them off unless you took the coils off the shocks first to be able to compress the shocks to get the clearence needed. Even good old Chuck Tator does it this way. Please explain what you are talking about. Interested in hearing how you do it.

I went in planning to disconnect the lower control arm at the ball joint but decided I didn't have to. I got as far as removing the nut and made a half assed attempt to separate the ball joint from the lower control arm it wasn't moving so I put the nut back and looked for an alternative method.

It was last year so I'm having trouble remembering exactly how I did it but off the top of my head......I'm pretty sure after I disconnected the sway bar, I was able to unload the suspension enough to make room for the shock to come off and out through the side, between the upper and lower control arm....make sense?

As for the canisters. Archer Racing told me they don't disconnect the hoses. They instructed me to cut holes in the trunk with a hole saw and pass the whole canister in the trunk that way. The front canisters I was able to snake through...just took a little while to figure out the route ;) I didn't get any mounting hardware so I made my own. I'm not crazy about the SS hose clamps but they work for now. I'm going to have to relocate them when the supercharger goes in(soon) so I've left it like that for the time being.

I used large (1.5-2") rubber body plugs to fill the hole. like these...
