As you may know from my previous post, I was all set to trade my C6 05 Vette coupe for a Z06. I have a 00 red/silver GTS (from Woodhouse) and previously had a 95 green RT. After responses from Hickey, Janni et al, various phone calls,(Jon B.,and others) and the never ending , but always enjoyable lobbying from Mr. Pemberton, I have ordered an 05 Commemorative Ed. SRT from Woodhouse. As little as a week ago if someone had told me I would be getting an SRT, I would have said they were crazy. I hope to keep my GTS because I cannot get that body style out of my system. I have had several recent Vettes and they have been great cars, but snakes are different and one of the best things about them (which we should all appreciate) are the Viper techs--we are spoiled, and if you don't think so, buy a Vette and take it in for service--nightmare.(next time you have a Sessions or Harper type tech work on your car, give them a tip)

Despite my affinity for Woodhouse/Pemberton, I shopped around as I always do for any car.(as a lawyer, I am quite anal about this sort of thing, BTW a civil defense lawyer--not ambulance chaser, before the jokes start) I went to all the usual suspects, and despite some temptation, it became clear that when you take into account price, service, integrity, etc Woodhouse remains the gold standard. Bill still has the same enthusiasm he had 5 yrs ago when I bought the last car. Of course, I have not received the car and will not let them off the hook yet--I will repost upon delivery.

Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts. TERRY

Great choice! 1 of 100. That makes about a zillion Vipers Woodhouse has sold just this year to people in VA and MD. Bill's driver can probably make the 1400-mile journey with his eyes closed.

I was in your shoes and did the same exact thing - I had one of Bill's commerative editions on its way to PA but before it shipped I went Yellow!! Bill and the great guys at Woodhouse delivered this on Saturday

Best decision I ever made from a "car perspective" and lord knows I have made alot! The car is amazing, Bill and team are the best -- the first weekend I put 150 miles on her, and on Monday I put another 50. The car is simply a complete blast to drive - no regrets in trading out of the corvette or dropping off the Z06 list - I like vettes but they are not as fun to drive as this or as attractive to look at as the Viper - good luck and post picture!

Congratulations, Terry - post your first driving thoughts. You'll appreciate the "surefootedness" of the SRT and the brakes, well,.... you'll see.

Get yourself to an autocross to really push the car and get rewarded.

Tony: I have never been a huge yellow fan, but that car (and the pic of Ron's) is gorgeous. It really shows well on that car. Janni: I will post. I am friends with a couple of Nextel Cup drivers, one has a GTS and the other just got a GT 40. I plan on getting them in the SRT to "shake" it (and me) down.Did it once in my old RT and scared the hell out of me.
