Has anybody received and used the CD service manuals?
Are they as complete as the hardcopy versions used at the dealerships?

Thanks

I received them last week in an envelope....and that's where they still are at. I can look at them later and let you know. What do they need to encompass to be a compelte set?

Buyer Beware. I've purchased several CD Copies of manuals on ebay. Sometimes they are almost useless. I have a manual for my lexus that has no table of contents and the files are not organized properly. This makes it quite time consuming to find information. It also appears that this same manual is missing several sections.

Hard copy manuals can be purchased for 30-40 dollars on ebay (shipped) quite regularly.

Thank you both.

I would think that a well thought through product would have a searchable find field, a full index, appear to cover all topics in the index and have zoomable graphics (pictures). Appreciate whatever you can tell me about the set that you have.

I bought the manuals from this guy that were posted here a few weeks ago:

I installed the software tonight and from what I've browsed through I would give it a lot better rating than any Chilton or Haynes manual. From what I've seen it already answered a few of my questions about some projects I'm going to be working on soon.

Do you guys really want to use a CD on a computer with dirty hands, plus ad the cost of the computer to the calculations and you can have a set of manuals.

Plus almost all the manuals on the web are copywrite infringments of the original.

No paper manuals are best......Just my 10 cents

Agree with Paul, real is better.

I did buy a set cheap off EBAY and while they might help clarify a particular issue, they are no substitute for the OEM manuals.

You print off the pages you need, and you get those dirty, not the ONLY paper you copy you have. I used to do the hard manuals too, until I realised the ones I ALWAYS used like valve covert tightening sequence (I used to do roller rocker adjustments on my gen 2) and wheel hug tightening (gen2s are notorious for having those lossen) were getting pretty stained from dirty hands. Then when I got electonic for my gen 3, I just printed out the pages for what I was working on and would throw them away if I ruined them during the activity.

If anyone needs a copy of a gen 3 service manual (03-06), I got a couple of spares I will sell. $35 A copy shipped.
