Rear window seal

Hello, trying to figure the fitment of the rear window seal on my 96rt, have had 3 other vipers but it is the first seal from temple performance, took all excess rubber off clear to the glass first seal ripped during installation ordered another seal it's not close to fitting tried everything go it slippery tried some heat it's just none not even close to the point I'm pushing and it's about to break, have done 3 prior no issues are these seals just a bit bigger hate to trim it down it's still a good half inch off anyone have any pointers thanks

I had to cut about 3” out of the middle of the one I tried. And even then, with the seal being a full bulb, it didn’t want to go in. As expensive as they are, you’d think it would fit without having to cut it. The other issue is the full bulb, it makes it difficult for it to “sweep backward” like the oem seal when pushing it into the body. I THINK If you were to cut the bulb in half and remove the inboard portion so that it’s just a half bulb, it would fit much better. But I’m not about to spend another $200 to cut it up and find out. Already wasted that much once. In the end, I used a generic glass seal from Amazon for $20 and it’s worked perfectly.

You need to shorten the replacement seal on a 96 RT

Thanks for the advice, you wouldn't happen to have a old pic of that seal you bought would you just in case, I'm really losing my patience with this one, thanks

I have to replace mine, but ive been putting it off as its never on the car other than during car washes. Do you have a link for the amazon replacement?
