Rubberized dash repair

Have an 08 that got a quarter size area damaged when my friend failed to listen to me on how to get out of the car. His foot hit the bottom left edge of the cluster trim piece and took the rubber off. As I am sure most of you know these trim pieces have a thin rubber coating on them. Has anyone found someone to repair these trim pieces. Talked to my local vinyl repair guy and he says he can't repair. Checked on a new piece and it is $480.00 from Dodge.....Thanks
