Running on eight?

This morning it felt like I was running on eight cylinders and it was getting worse. Then I had a shocking thought and looked at the gas gage. Empty. Less than empty. I felt like an idiot. Amazingly enough, I was able to pull into a gas station (what a miracle it was there - I only managed to go about 50 yards since the first symptom) and coast to a pump as the engine died.

For those of you who have wondered, a 2001 GTS takes a little over 18 gallons after running dry. (18.065 for $32.50)

Man, that last quarter of a tank goes FAST.

Ouch...
I think the tanks are V'd like the F-body cars.... slow to drink gas up in the F area.. but hit past that last quarter and it GOES...
