side sills

I got Gen-1 sills, for my 2002 final edition from the
Parts Rack. I want to polish the grooved area and have the rest painted red. What is the best way to do this.
Do they brush the whole sill ?
Do they polish only that area?
Do they clear coted?
Any thing that any body can help me with will be
appreciated Thanks

I would polish just the area you plan not to paint. You will have to clear coat the polished area to keep the finish.
