And one more to compare to :

Mclaren F1: 0-100-0 in 11.5 seconds

The SRT10 is very very quick indeed.

Like most testing there is some variance in performance. The best times that I've found for the GTS/ACR is 0-100 in 8.77, 100-0 in 4.68 for a total time of 13.45 seconds.

And cars like the Caterham R500 did 0-100-0 in 11.44 seconds, but they aren't dealer-sold in the U.S.

And of course supertuner cars like the Venom 800TT did 0-100-0 in 9.9 seconds, and the Lingenfelter 427TT most likely does it faster still. But both of those cars are running with slicks, which precludes taking corners at the same time as this great acceleration and braking.

It would be great to see how a car like the DLM Stage IV, or Apex Lethal 750 does in a 0-100-0 run, especially ones setup with Stoptech brakes.

I think that the SRT-10 Viper's 12.17 time is fantastic for a factory stock convertible. And being under $90K is a plus for that accomplishment.

Dean--

I have to giggle when I think about these results, and realize that this is just a cute little red convertable car. Almost just a Sunday cruiser, a car to drive to the mall in, besting the greatest cars in the world in performance on the way there. :) :) :)

I love it! People may have their problems with the looks of the car, but as I've said in the past, the performance numbers will CHANGE how the car looks to people. Suddenly, the SRT-10's apperance will define what ultimate speed LOOKS like.

Agreed...If you look at any old MT mag from 97-00 you will see the GTS does consistant 8.8 sec to 100mph....Its the brakes that kept it out of the 12sec club in the 0-100-0 tests........
