man, this thing rocks! Wish I had the space to take the project on. Wonder if a C5 powertrain would fit...

My parents used to have a station wagon with those wings on it.

I remember I thought it was the coolest wagon around at the time.

I musta been 5 or 6 :)

I don't think 59 Chevys had a 327. I think the 283 was the only SB V8 then.

59 was the year of the biggest fins for Chevy. There was a story going around at the time that the highway cops couldn't use their 59s for high speed chase because of the lift from the wings. Bunk, I'm sure.

59 was the second year for the big block 348 soon to be 409.

Memories of my high school years. Mine was a 60 Chevy (same wings, no tear drops) and Bob Seger came out with "Night moves" during the time. "Out in the back seat of my 60 Chevy."

Keprght, I'm sure a C5 powertrain would fit. In fact, I think a J-79 F4 engine could fit in it. We used to climb in the engine bay to work on it, not lean over the fender.

Oh Chuck, your dating yourself. I had and changed the words to '62 Chevy....still do. Man, I wish I still had that car. I have a late model LT1 that would slip right in.....
