Sport shims

Has anyone got any track day experience of running in SPORT MODE with the sport shims removed?

I was thinking about giving it a go at a track event in a few weeks but thought I'd ask the great and good first.

Took them out for track days with my 96. Turn in was better, and it seemed to help a bit. Not as extreme as a full track alignment, but certaintly significant.

I would put them back in at the end of the day for driving home to avoid extra tire wear. Pretty neat idea, I thought.

If you checkout your service manual and lookup SPORT SHIMS in the INDEX, all should become clear.

They mount behind the upper control arms to frame. When you remove them you have to reset the toe as well.

 

[Tail lights]

Removing them give you one more degree of camber, and a bunch of toe out. so much fhat you have to readjust. before driving
