I am thinking of eleminating the cats due to heat and restriction. Does any vender offer a bolt on replacement for a 96 rt10?

There is no kit yet, but ask www.roeracing.com. Maybe they can put something together for you.

Do-it yourself:

1. Get Cat simms for your viper. www.roeracing.com sells them. ($120)
2. Get two 2 1/2 stainless steel exhaust band clamps ($18)
2. Remove the cats
3. Measure the leght of the pipe that you need.
4. In the yellow pages lookup for a shop that sells stainless steel in your area. Get those two section of pipes 2 1/2 ($20).
5. Install everything.

I would recommend doing it yourself. Or a muffler shop may be able to cut the pipe to length for you. You probably will not need the o2 sims on the 96.

It sounded awesome! And it wasn't nearly as loud as I was expecing. This is with the Borla exhaust (old style). That NAPA clamp is the ticket! That and a sawzall... I've helped out with this on a few cars and most people are quite happy. The only think I _don't_ know about it the 3" pipe at the front of the exhaust... That goes into my ballenger headers and i don't know if DLM put that on years ago or if my muffler shop did when they put on the hi-flow cats years ago. since then i've done all the exhaust work myself but i don't know where that L pipe came from...

BTW: stock-to-hi-flow cat change - was a bit loud.
hi-flow-to-no-cat chang - not that much louder than previous.

take care!

Has anyone replaced the stock header to cat pipe to a 3" while still using the stock headers?

Seems like you could cut the stock pipe off at the
V-clamp flange, get a curved piece of 3", a 2-1/2 to 3 adapter to weld onto the V-clamp flange.

Anyone done this or does anyone sell it as a kit?

Chex I ordered my B&B 3" catback from Roe and they made me an offroad pipe that bolts in where the factory cat goes. Works great, and I can easily swap in the cats if needed. Give them a call the can make something, but you need to give them the length, or go with JDs setup above, you can't beat the price.

Also you do not need O2 sims on anything under 1998 (definitely not on a 96 RT/10).
