Sylvania SilverStar Headlight bulbs

Are these any whiter or brighter than stock bulbs? If so what are the part #s for 02 RT10? 9005,9006?? High beam & Low beam?? Walmart has them for like < 40.00 a set. I do not want to go HID right now so I was wondering if they are worth it??

I just picked them up at my dealer , Mopar part # P0009006 list $27.00 each , supposed to be much brighter.

Walmart has them for 37.00 a pair.

Hope they are at leasst a little brighter

A friend of mine who is a lighting fixture manfacturer tried a set in his F-250. First changing just one bulb..then both.

He mentioned that it was a whiter light and made road signs easier to read at night.

I put a set in my Bronco and they are whiter, and on a dark country road, they are better. ARound town, you;ll only really noticed that they are whiter.

When I bought mine, Sylvania didn't make silverstars for the high beam slots - maybe they do now. Are my low beams any brighter? Maybe a bit, but don't expect HID performance!!!

Correction Walmart does not carry 9006. That is the low beam, right? Are the HID illegal?

It is my understanding that some aftermarket HID kits (that were being sold for pre '03 viper application) had no self-leveling mechanism in them - they could possibly "blind" oncoming drivers and were yanked from the market. There are probably other kits that you could scrape together and make work. Not sure if someone is making a kit that is currently available; one that you could toss at the car and would be a good fit. Someone please correct me if I'm off the mark here.

9005 are the low beam bulbs - 9011 are high beam. Just checked my service manual for that info.....

Put 9005's in both high and low...There's really no diff...
