Explaining Viper things to you
I was trying to remember why I didn't have those issues when I replaced my cooling system. I included replacing the sensor, just for grins and giggles.

I had the PS pump and bracket off for the Big Brakes update parts was my secret. Because I was thinking, what's your problem? I don't remember any sawzalling on my car!

Great tip though. That should go in the illustrated section. :2tu:

Cold or hot the temperature gauge stays pegged. It only drops when the key switch is turned off. This happened all of a sudden. Acts like a short. Does anyone have any ideas where to start? Melted wire, bad sensor, ect... This is on a 1998 genII GTS.

Unbelievable. I was driving my 98 GTS today, merrily along at about 70 or so, and my temperature gauge suddenly shoots over the red and pegs it. I pull over right away expecting the worst, open and hood and nothing. No overflow, no steam no nothing. Fan is working, belt on tight.

Guess the exact same thing happened as you. I have an appointment with Chuck anyway this week, so it was timely.
