Hey North East track enthusiasts,
How about another racetrack? Recently the powers that be at CART, decided not to renew their contract with Nazareth Speedway after the 2001 season. Suppose the owners of the Speedway, International Speedway Corp., (does the name “France” mean anything to you?) invested in building a road course on the infield. Do you think they would have a problem renting the facility with all the Porsche Clubs in the area in addition to the BMW, Ferrari, Corvette, SCCA and Viper clubs? In case you don’t know, Nazareth is in Pennsylvania just South of Pocono International Speedway, almost in our backyard. Let’s begin with a letter writing campaign to ISC and also directly to Nazareth Speedway and bring to their attention the possibilities of adding a road circuit to the existing tri-oval, noting the revenue it will bring to the Speedway. Be sure to mention your local VCA chapter and Viper Days. Who knows, it may help secure a good date in the future. Address your letters to:

PS…There’s a rumor of a brand new track in our area. The proposed Hudson Valley Motorsports Country Club has 500+ acres of land in Ulster county (in upstate NY near thruway) and is planning a 2+ mile road course.
