I would like to type the kind of buyer that the SRT buyer is going to be. So for the little minority of people out there who actually like this car...what else do you drive? Better yet, before your current/future Viper, what was your toy? maybe this will give us an idea of the kind of buyer you are. Im not answering this one since I absolutely dispise the new Viper.

Smokin'; I'm not in love with the '03 viper convertibles looks either and I have not seen it in person but having said that I have ordered a red one and will wait until actual performance figures are posted for a final decision. 0-60
of 3.8 secs or quicker and quarter mile in 11.7 secs or less with
60-0 braking of 100' or so and I will make a space in my garage for it. Looks are only skin deep but it's their heart and soul that counts. A few of these cars are not the prettiest but I loved 'em all. Here are the car lists you requested:
some cars previously owned;

1963 max wedge plymouth savoy
1963 511cid max wedge dodge 330
1970 440-6 'cuda 4 spd
1970 hemicuda 3 of them
'91 gmc syclone turbo

some cars currently owned;
'96 viper gts
'92 300zxtt
'90 vette ZR1
'70 hemi challenger RTSE auto
'98 c43 AMG
'01 dakota 4dr 4wd pu.
'03 red srt convert on order

Smokin, I think your post has the intent to place those who like the SRT in a bad light. I don't know why you need to "type" (that's what you said) them. Everyone has their reasons for liking what they like, and it is fine either way.

Also, the GREAT MAJORITY (not "little minority") of those that reply to polls think the SRT is great. Dodge is looking for the majority, and they have found it. They don't have to please what appears to be a few unhappy VCA forum visitors.

I hesitate to reply to your question for fear of attack, but what the heck. I have a 01 GTS, 02 Harley, 99 Jeep GC, and soon to have Ram SRT.

I know that all the SRT's are current certificate holders. I was not trying to ridicule or make fun, rather I was wondering what kind of "car guy" is the SRT owner/appreciator/admirer.

I know five SRT10 buyers, who are VCA members in our region, well. One was co-founder of the VCA, he owns a RT-10 and GTS. Two other own from two to four each owned a RT10 and one or more GTS's. Both love cars and one of them puts a lot of open track miles on his GTS, Another member had a GTS and recently sold it to make room for his SRT10. I have owned four(one RT and three GTS's), all purchased new and still have two GTS's one is a stock GT2 and the other a modified ACR. I like the Viper for its performance and know at least two of these five SRT10 buyers want performance.

I think what he means is he wants to know what kind of cars the non viper owners who like the SRT drive. The debate before was that the car appeals to others and he wants to know what these others drive now.

I'm still in my early (?) 20's, but I've owned several cars... I am not restricted to a single brand...

-88 Corvette Coupe w/LPE 383cid motor (ran 11.8's)
-95 Eclipse GSX
-91 RX-7 turbo
-93 300ZX Turbo
-98 Viper GTS
-02 BMW 325i (the shatty model, just for full disclosure in case MarkO reads this)
-95 Corvette w/supercharged LT1
-90 Firebird GTA w/lotsa NOS
-84 Camaro Z28
-87 RX-7
-88 Corvette twin turbo

Some bikes too..
-76 Kawasaki KZ650
-95 Honda Nighthawk
-00 CBR929RR
-01 Yamaha R1
-02 Yamaha R1
-02 Honda VTX-1800C

Most of the stuff I have owned ran 12's in the 1/4 easily, but also handled very well and saw some AutoX, drag strip, and road course action.

I guess if I was someone who just preferred looks and big motors over finesse and overall performance I would have some old crappy american muscle cars in there.

See my sig below. In addition to those: 2001 Honda S2000 and a 2000 Camaro SS. All the others I have owned are point a to b types and don't merit listing.

Jon,

I prefer to truncate my age to the nearest ten... meaning I am "20".

The fact that rounding it to the nearest ten would produce 30 is besides the point.

P.S. You still look older than me... so nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah
