John,
What type of track? drag, auto-x, high speed road track?

with an '00 you have Pilot Sports. Before them were Pilot Mxx3. low pressures in the Sports combined with sustained high speeds have a bad result.

Dale is an excellent driver and his info is really about right. He usually leaves me in his dust on his Hoosiers and we have discussed what is an optimal pressure for the MXX3's compared to the Hoosiers. He did mention that the pressure was for MXX3's cold, and there are some differences that should be noted with the Pilot Sports. They have a less rigid sidewall so you probably should go up in pressure over a MXX3. I would go with 30-32 in the rear and about 3-4 lbs more in the front. The increased pressure in the front will help balance out some of the push. These are cold pressures and I agree with Dale that 40 ( cold ) is way to high.
