y'all crack me up. I've said this before and I'll say it again: The AEM isn't that expensive. Call any NOPI in the US (I use the one in GA) and they will sell you the Viper AEM for ~2450. Chris is my guy at Nopi in Atlanta. (770) 434-0200 . But any NOPI should be able to hook you up.

not to sound bull-like, but y'all need to listen up! If you are shopping for an item purely on price, there are resellers in the mustang and corvette world who are used to selling w/o viper tax. call one of them up if you need an item that is cross-vehicle (paxton, aem, mcleod, etc...) and get a non-viper-tax price from a reputable import or otherwise dealer. I'll always try JonB first b/c I want to keep the $$ in the viper community. But if someone wants to screw me on price, i'll go elsewhere.

The mcleod twin disc is suppose to be close to 2k. then why will a corvette parts shop sell me the viper piece for 1350?

it is all about product margin. and I hate like h*ll to see people pay $$ in pure profit to people who want to make more than just a buck.

A shop has to make money to stay in business. But me, personally... I'm not willing to pay 30+% markup on ANYTHING.

Even summit's profit margin on profit is between 4% and 20% on most things. some are slightly more, but why should we (in the viper community) pay the higher end of this? F-that!

----end rant---

I agree! I get tired of things costing double because it's for a Viper.

Im confused though Joe, you offered one for sale at 2750 but then tell everyone we can buy one at 2450. So I have to assume you know that because you bought one at 2450. Am I missing something here, do you have a shop. Im not bashing because it's admirable that you have given us this info, but confused a little bit.

By the way is the AEM definitely better than the VEC-II and why?

joseph is selling aem + 2 wideband sensors. that is the reason for the extra cost.

the only people that think a vec is better are the ones that don't know how or have not set up a stand alone engine management system. how many new firmware updates are there now on the vec2, 50? that should tell you something.

The viper AEM comes with 2 wide bands. I don't have a shop. But I have posted numerous times about being able to get the aem for something more reasonable than 3k+

Again, I got mine with a 3.5 bar map sensor AND the 19 channel srial gauge overnight shippef for 2850.

On the mcleod's... Maybe! But I don't need a clutch this week. My spec3 is holding up good so far!

To clarify: offering an aem forsale for 2750 AFTER I've announced that this is too much to pay is purely sarcastic!

If you want an aem, order it yourself w/o the viper tax. There is only 1 aem part num for the viper aem.
