I don't know about their cars but I do know about their trucks. The trucks run very lean and with a ton of advance at low rpm.Empty truck, slowly dip into the gas and they ping.Put in a high flow air filter or exhaust system and it is compounded.Use better wires, cooler plugs,de-carbon heads, put in lower temp t-stat and it will still probably ping. This tends to poisx off a lot of truck guys that want to run 87 like the book says.Complain loud and long enough and they pull a few deg of timing out with a reprogram.Mileage and performance suffer. The only viable solution is to run 89.Of course it runs rich with not much advance at wot.Anyone have any idea why Dodge does this?BTW there are plug in chip packs to change timing and fuel from jet etc that do it and require premium fuel.So why is this so hard to do on a Viper?
