Vipers spotted at 14,000 feet (PICS)

The Colorado VCA did another cruise today and we drove up to Mt. Evans, the highest road in the continental USA.

We gathered here in the morning

The drove to the entrance of the Mt. Evans road

We still have a tree line

Some more scenery as we zoomed up, higher and higher

Took a break midway up

Back on the road

Higher and higher

Still higher

At the top, a traffic congestion

Looking back at the road we drove

Yours truly on top of the "driving" world

Vipers in the distance

Back down again, because it started to snow in August

That seems like a very scenic cruise. The closest we get to something like that in the north-east is the Mount Washington Auto Road in NH to just over 6000 ft.

Love the area, we normally go to Colorado every Christmas to ski, except last year we went to Lake Tahoe for 15' of snow in a week.

I've never driven Mt. Washington here in the NE. Might be a fun "cruise".

It should be a fun fall cruise! Fantastic views from the summit if the weather permits. And you get a bumper sticker that says "This car climbed Mt Washington". BTW, I did drive it in the Viper in 1997 and remember the toll operator at the bottom warning me "DO NOT RACE up to the summit." which off course I ignored.
