I happen to own a 2002 Dakota Quad Cab truck in additon to my 04 Viper. Yesterday while shuffling cars around in my driveway, I moved the viper to get at the truck. when I got out of the Viper I put the keys to it in my pocket and walked to the truck.
I got sidetracked by a phone call and after the call, I raised my leg up to get into the truck (4wd) and the viper keys jabbed in my leg. Without thinking I pulled out the keys got in and stuck them in the ignition and STARTED the truck. I reached for the shifter, and as I did I noticed the truck keys in the console where I put them earlier. I stopped and compared keys and they are cut exactly the same. Even my Dodge parts guy ran a vehicle information summary report on the two and they both have the same key code..
How many possible key codes are there?? Now I wish I could get the remotes programmed the same.
