first off thank you all much for your help on everything. you guys are the coolest! I will be driving my car to Chuck Tators place for a tune up (i think)and a few other repairs on Jan 5 and since its so far away i would like to get a few more mods done to it. i bought the car used and it came with K&N, smooth tubes (think thats what they are called), custom seats Blk and Yellow with viper head in head rest and yellow stripe down the middle and some kind of exhaust (not sure who makes it) but different pipes from stock vipers. car looks great and sounds really nice. ever since i bought it a few months back i raced 2 vettes and both times they almost whipped me and just yesterday this vette had me till 4 gear. i was almost embarrased. i feel like i should of had it right after second goin into third. i finally got him but boy was i nervous almost red-lining just to beat him. so here is the thing. what more could i do to it without spending say thousands of $$$$. i figured since it will be at chucks ill have him do some work to it. thanks and happy new year! be safe :headbang:

Chad, the interior i believe it starts with a "V" its an Italian name...dealer said they were an option and sold for around $3k new for both. i like to place some pics but not sure how to..i think i have to join VCA (which will i do). BTW the interior is really great. it parts it from others. the yellow stripe down the middle matches the yellow on the exterior and so does the snake head on the head rest. its really nice...

First, before you go proving your strength on the road, learn that the rearend can come around easily under strong accelleration - don't loose it!

Second, for around $8k you can get Sean Roe's or Paxton's supersharger kits. (Sean's probably the better way to go, and I have a friend with one that loves it, as for Paxton, they're just new in the Viper world...)

Having a 2001 myself, and knowing the Pistons are not forged, that's about as far as you want to go without upgrading the bottom end. IMHO.

Lastly, why waste the time risking you car (and Insurance costs) against Vettes? Someone will always be faster, and when "I" get the crowd around my STOCK parked car, and the Vett doesn't, I have no need to prove anything on the street. Sure more power is "better", but if you want a racer - think about ViperDays...

ENJOY the car (in any way you can), and WELCOME!

thanks for the heads up. i know what you mean. i know the car has lots of power and very comfortable with the way it rides and handles. it also seems like the rear end hops around alot on first gear take off. is this normal?

If those Vette's were ZO6's then they are very close in performance so don't be discouraged, they could have been regular C5's with mods. But as was said above there will always be somebody faster, and I wouldn't even bother worrying about the Vette's, you'll probably end up running into more Stangs that would hand you your *** then modified Corvettes, watch out for those 03/04 Cobras with bolt on's or KB kits.

As for the wheel hop, yeh, it's pretty normal on any IRS car with a lot of power (same thing happens in ZO6's and IRS Cobras), just learn to be a little smoother with the clutch/gas and you'll be fine but it will happen with that kind of low end torque.

You can install a set of headers if you haven't, not only for the performance gain, but mainly for a meaner sound IMO. Some people would say do gears, but I think the 3.07 rear is fine, 3.55 or 3.73 might be fun but I think if you were going to race it'd be too easy to break traction even when shifting (hell the 3.07's can do that at times).

But if you want cheap, daily power, definitley pick up one of the Roe or Paxton kit's and you can have an easy 600 rwhp beast :2tu: :headbang:

I'm guessing your interior was done by Venzano (sp?) from what you said.

By the looks of those tips I would guess that you have a Belanger exhaust!

I hated my tips but loved the Belanger sound so I had the tips cut off and went with these:

I have no idea who made them because my buddy bought them from ebay and I got them from him, but I think they looked better than the old ones.
BTW you bought the right color.
PS. I soon will have a little yellow on the inside of my beast. The picture posted is a customers logo but I will go with the Sneaky Pete. I was also planning on the racing stripe down the seat like what you have. I have to get all of my customers cars out of the way before I do my own though. :(

Great color!! Well I'm a little partial.

Agreed. Everyone knows that yellow Vipers are faster and more appealing to hot, young, promiscuous women. :D

yes the chicks dig it and do have some haters that say "why did you get it in yellow"? i think the yellow is best cause the cars shape has much detail that could ony been seen in a lighter shade of paint. but yea thanks everyone. im trying to time it right and get the yellow viper taken a photo with the yellow NYC cabs as one big group. there is a meeting place where the cabs always fuel up before going home at around 12am and one of these night i gonna ask them for a few quick pics while they are refueling at the BP gas station. just gonna be a whole lot of yellow.... :2tu:
