Where to get wheels polished?

So after washing the car today, it is apparent to me that the wheels have been neglected...severely. Is there somewhere I can send them to be polished, maybe take the little curb rash off, but mostly just get shiny again?

FYI: OEM wheels are clear coated.

Any good local metal polishing shop could do the work. I do a lot of my own polishing and aluminum is pretty easy to work with. You would be surprised how well scratches can be sanded and then polished out. The biggest problem is getting them clear coated. I have never found any shops that do a good job. You don't have to clear coat but you will need to polish more if you don't. I had a set of wheels done and it cost about 200.00 each.

The clear coat has been removed from my wheels. I regret it. I spend most of the day polishing those things up. The clear coat may not be as shiney as polished, but it sure is a lot less strain on your back. Another option is to have them chromed. Californa Chrome can do them.

califonia chrome is the answer. about $150 each including caps chromed...a little extra for curb rash repair...but they look great and no more polishing

If you are out in California, then Wheel Techniques in Santa Clara is the place to go. I don't know what people are talking about as far as taking the clear coat off. If you leave your car out in the rain, maybe, but I applied probably 3 coats of Simichrome to my wheels, since I had the wheels stripped and high polished for around $500 total, and have had nothing but brilliant shine. Now, about every 3 weeks, I just spray on Zaino Z-6 and wipe off with a towel. You can check my Avatar. One good thing about it, is that I accidently curbed the front wheel, and was able to sand it out with 4 grades of sand paper, and then use the Simichrome, and it looks just like new again. If you are clear coated, you can not do that. High polished looks shinier and does not have that blue color that chrome has. It also will not flake, and is much cheaper to do.

I agree, you can do it yourself with high quality sandpaper. Just end up with 2000 grit and then use a high grade aluminum wheel polish (Maguires or other brand). It seems that most shops have a hard time reapplying clear coat to Viper wheels. I just use this stuff and it works great: www.wheelwax.com

I agree with Got Venom. High polish aluminum looks great and isn't that hard to take care of. It has a nice luster to it when polished properly. Just my personal opinion but polished looks better than chrome. Maybe i'm weird but I enjoy polishing.
