Which tubes are better?

I have the Mopar smooth tubes and was wondering if the Sean Roe tubes (or any others) would be worth buying? Are they all pretty much the same?

If you already have Mopar tubes. Keep them. The Roe tubes, SnakeOly tubes, etc. will give you no advantages.

96GTS, I have the chrome tubes with red silicone ends that are like brand new. Had them on last year about 2K miles.

I'm interested in switching to Mopar black smooth tubes, the ones with the factory bend in them near one end, not just the straight ones.

I heard the Mopar tubes give you 10-15% more power than any other tube. The bend in the tube creates a vortex similar to the Tornado and increases fuel economy too. I was gonna go with twin turbos until I installed the Mopar tubes. WOW

I'd think the Mopar tubes might straighten the air out a bit from its' upward 12deg angle of approach compared to just straight tubes.


Just for fun once I took some pics from the far end a straight tube at the same angle it'd be at coming from the airbox and the upper half of the TB is fairly well blocked by the butterfly as you look up at it from 12deg downhill.



The butterfly would have to cause quite a bit of turbulence to the incoming air.


Playing with numbers, I keep coming up with if the engine is at around 6000rpm it'd be sucking in a 2.25" diameter column of air over 250 feet long every second.



Seems like a big number, but the answer's always the same.


Little things could mean a lot.


Later pictures with the TBs rotated 90 degrees, and the butterflies now in a vertical position, show a much larger TB window. Two perfect opposing D shaped windows with only the butterfly screws to disturb airflow...



Some bellcranks and just a little linkage work would do the trick.
