Anyone run their car in ITE? If so, what "Enduro racing series" did your car
come from to allow ITE classification? Viper Days?

I have a car that has an old SCCA logbook and apparent tech inspection passed by a Steve Pederson, but no documentation as to what endurance series the car
came from. I think I need this to get a new logbook.

Help...

Talk to Bob Woodhouse, too - he's done a bunch of SCCA stuff in his Gen II racecar. Rick maxwell, his mechanic, could help, too. Hell, even Pemberton.... :)

Carolinas Region SCCA doesn't have ITE, they have SPO - so that's what we run and that's what the COmp Coupes run. We stillhave a couple T1 Vipers kicking around , too, but your car isn't a T1 car.

BTW - Congrats!

Janni,
Washington DC SCCA region has ITE..and the double regional
next weekend has ITE in group4 with the big dogs...dont mind running with SPO, just dont want to run against them!

Will be my first SCCA race if I can get all my ducks in a row.

BTW, The Motorola Cup car could run in ITE, if you wanted to assuming you ran in the DC region....are you running a car at SAARC/MAARS May 7-9?

John,
SARRC/MARS is not on the agenda - trying to make Putnam this weekend for ViperDays and we won't be home until Monday night, so Thursday thru Sunday to do it all over again is a bit short. (Crew chief gets required union time off....)

Will most likely come up to watch - lots of friends running.

Would really like to go - get both our SCCA races in for the year in one local event, but I don't see it happening.

You going to that event or is it another one????

ITE is a restricted regional designation only, it means IT everything else that is not legal for the IT classes. There is no ITE in the general competition rule book. SPO is another regional designation for catch all classes. There is no real difference between the two so I wouldnt be concerned with the designation The Florida regions allow spo in the enduros, I cant remember if the carolina regions do or not, I know they do in the long stuff, I raced @ VIR last month & I dont recall any spo in the enduro(but there were spec racers so maybe they do allow them) . At the 12 hour @ homestead last week there were some spo cars.

If this is your first SCCA race, just bring your current log book & they will do a 2004 tech on the car & you are ready to go racing. Important to note that this year the lap belts cannot be over 2 years old, so check this ahead of time. The tech guys will help you place your car in the apropriate class. The VIR region is top shelf & very friendly.

I will be @ VIR that weekend in my spec miata( fresh from its first podium @ roebling last week!) So look me up @ the Loansquick.com trailer.

SCCA ITE is a lot of fun, and I ran there for a while. You'll see lots of different cars in that class..some expensive and fast, and some jalopies. Most people are cool too. However, Viper Days get's you so much more seat time and competition in all viper format..and the "customer" is #1. .why many of us prefer to go there.
Have fun.
seth.

Thanks everybody, and yes Johnny boy, I did buy a new Viper...John Grieco's GT-1, white #10 with flames galore (but not for long)! I plan to run Viper Days events too, just the ones close to home.
