it doesn't fit right. I've got a 95 rt/10. Bought a top from a guy who said it was from a 94. All research suggests that the top should work. I put it on in the back.. clicks right into the pad.. and put the pins in in the front.. lock them in.. and umm.. pretty good. Little .. loose.. but, I'm new to this.. and maybe that's the way it goes. Headed down the road.. and ut oh.. no, it didn't fly off.. but, the front definitely comes up -- an inch or so.. wind just blowing right in.. so, I fluxed with the top a bit.. and there's a lot of up and down play at the pins. They appear to be too long. Have you heard of this? Can I get shorter pins? Do you have some you want to sell me? Can I change them myself? Help?

thanks -- as usual

94 & 95 pins lengths CAN vary. i had a top from a 95 on my 94 at one point & the front pins were different lengths. not by much, but just enough so that I couldn't get the latch to fasten onto the windshield frame.

I called Northwind Engineering & they shipped me proper size pins.

btw, i also ended up with a new top off a 96 that had even shorter pins than the 95. the bottoms (where they would fit into the window frame) were even different shapes.

the rear pins all were the same size though. at the time i think Northwind wanted like $80 for the set. hope this helps.

50? maybe 60? Jeff.. not moving much at all. The pins are way too long.. now I've gotta go for another 80 bucks? Damn.. you got any laying around Jeff? How's the business going?

And, is replacing these as easy as just taking the top nut off of the pin?

i was confused too. when i ordered them Northwind faxed me a sheet that i had to fill out for specs on my current size pins & how much i needed them to change. they made me a set exactly to my specs. apparently between 92-96 there was alot of variation in the sizes.
you're gonna need to determine how much you want to reduce your pins.

is the space really almost a full inch when it lifts? my father has a 94 as well & used a washer to fill the space & create a tighter fit. his was off maybe a 1/8" or so. you may not be that lucky.

that's the space in the midde front of the top.. not at the pins.. at the pins.. it's got to be 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Causing some major lift in the middle front though..

just want this to work now.

yeah its obviously bowing up more in the center from catching all that air coming in. 1/4 to 1/2" is way too much, i'd suggest just getting new pins. if i were you i'd call Northwind & sell your old pins on ebay. somebody may need them for a hardtop or whatever.

Mike at Northwind is the "Pin" specialist, he'll be able to set you up, he has all the different pins. Team Viper kept changing them 'till they got them "perfect".

Lots of the my design, but that is not going to help you any. Otherwise, I'd just send you a pair.
