battery is 4 months old and only has 2K miles on it. I had the battery charger on it at 10 amps for 14 hrs and when i take it off you cant even access the car unless you put charger back on?

I have an issue with the 97 GTS and had to flat bed it home last night. The last month i have been having issues with the car when I brake or downshift, i lose power and it will sometimes die. I only drive the car every 2 weeks or so and just got a tender but havent used it yet...
I charged on 10 AMP and the volts read 14, so i took it out for a spin and while sitting in traffice it died. it started right back up but died a couple more times. Made my way back home with no issues. Connection issue maybe? I guess i should pull off the tire and check it out. Any other...
So no issues all summer and then i didnt start it for 2 weeks. Last night i tried starting it and it didnt turn over. i trickle charged it for a few hours and then she started up, i drove it for 10 minutes or so. tried to start it today and wouldnt turn over again. charged it again for 3...
ask your agent if there is a category with less miles. I am 28 and my state farm agent told me of a "Classic car" category that allows you 7500 miles per yr and it only costs me around $75/mo
Welcome Jim. I too had a long awaited dream of owning one of these beasts as well. Got lucky enough to find one this summer from a guy in Virginia. I am also in the Chicago area (West Suburbs - Lisle to be exact). When you finally find it I'm sure there will be meet/greets somewhere local...
Thanks for the quick response. I was told to pull battery to charge it. you think its ok to put the battery charge on there? i saw some old threads about jumping or charging could affect something else? Maybe i am being to paranoid about a battery change.

I am out here in Chicago and first winter with the Viper. I researched a lot of storage tips, so thank you. I'm planning on storing in a non temp controled facility only a few blocks from my house. Is it necessary to go through all those steps if i am religious in starting it weekly? Any...
So I'm out here is Chicago and coming up on the winter months (unfortunately) and curious to know what I need to do to ensure a fresh start in the Spring. I have read a bunch of past threads, but wondered if all of that would need to be done if I started her up weekly? I will be only a block...
Thanks for doing this. This will be a great source for future parts. Weather striping for windows would be great to get less than $400 a pop. I have a 97 GTS and weather striping is shot!
So I have a 97 GTS and I ran into that weather striping issue. I saw all the threads so I got some good ideas, but curious if there are any other odd part replacements that are way to expensive for what your getting? Just want to be prepared.
Great car, congrats! I just got one a month ago, same color same yr. I am always curious to see what these go for if you want to share pricing. Good luck and be safe.
Hello all,
Probably a stupid question, but is there a trigger or something that releases the pumps for the back hatch? I swapped out the old ones with new and couldnt get it to close. Thought you guys were a better source than autozone.
Thanks in advance!

-Where is best place to replace rear glass hatch pumps?
-Anyone in IL region, where would you recommend reputable body shop in West Suburbs of Chicago?
