speedo question

Hi guys i need some help.My speedo and odometer just stopped working.I did a search and asked on the forum and the consensus was the speed sensor on the tranny.When i got under the car to change it,i noticed the wires on the sensor were frayed.After i changed it,the odometer works now ,but the speedo still does not work.I disconnected the battery to reset the check engine light,it hasnt come back on,but i only drove the car about a quarter mile before it started to rain,any ideas what could still be wrong?

The odometer works but not speedometer? The same gauge?

Do you really mean this or do you mean the tachometer?

the odometer turned 2 tenths then stopped,now nothing works again

My girl is reading over my shoulder and says "Speedo Question?!!" Apparently she was thinking spandex bwuhahaha. oops gotta go....

You're in the same boat as me. You need to break it down. The speed sensor goes to the PCM. Then it goes from the PCM to gauge. There's a tool they can connect to tell where the problem is. Then you can track it. Probably a ground somewhere.
