Clutch fluid changed
All bulbs work
Spark plugs changed
Tightened down shield under car

In my opinion I would have stayed with the run flats for the road trip.....I did a 1800 mile road trip and got a flat on the way out of georgia and good thing a did have those crappy run flats becuase I was able to limp my ass to a dealer and 600.00 bucks later I was on my way. Is the car a coupe or vert?? Car really ***** in the rain in a freeway so if it looks like it's going to rain ALOT I would suggest leave the car at home. Or than that have a safe trip. Where r you heading?

3,000 miles of risking a *** hole, a speeding ticket, rock chips, a flat, breaking something, a hater scratching your car.

Id go to hertz and rent a corvette instead.

I'd say you have it covered!! Have fun, enjoy the ride and don't worry about a few bug splashes. These cars are ment to drive not decorate your garage!!

How do your brake pads look? Looks like you got it covered. Hopefully you'll have great weather on your journey and enjoy driving your Viper. Stay safe.

Duplicolor has a temporary spray on Clear Bra that I used when I went to VOI9 in Vegas. Seemed to work pretty well at protecting the nose. See it here:

Shield

I took out the dead pedal to give more room to stretch out the left leg and also rolled a small towel to position under my right leg.

I like the idea of Man-Candy - ie Beefjerky as well. Have fun.

I have a Mopar bra that I will be putting on for the trip, BIG thanks to Mark at WoodHouse. Great Customer Service and received the bra pretty much overnight.

I will be heading from Central Illinois, making my way to Louisville KY, then over to North Carolina for some white water rafting, then down to South Carolina. Then back up to Jacksonville NC and back to Charleston SC. Asheville NC to visit the Biltmore and then a few other stops on the way back. I figure tops 3000 miles when i pull back into my driveway. Should be a fun road trip with some friends, except I get to drive the Viper and they will be driving an SUV.

Did an 8400 mile 26 day road trip in our 06 FE Coupe when going to VOI 9 in Vegas. No problems at all. Enjoy your Viper----getting there is 90% of the fun!:2tu:

I agree with Bill, sounds like an awsome trip! I am jealous.

I am due for some vacation time and a nice roadtrip like that is just what I need for some good Viper therapy.:headbang:

Where in NC are you going to go white water rafting? When will you be in Asheville? We could hook up for lunch with the snakes.

I think one of the Viper myths out there is that they are somehow different from other cars when it comes to taking trips. They aren't. You don't need to do any more prep work on a Viper than on any other car you've ever driven. 3,000 miles is nothing for any modern car these days. The Viper is no different.

The bra will work until the first rain or dirty construction area. Then you should take it off and try to clean the underside felt...which will have dirt in it. It's a real pain to do in a hotel room. Option 2 after it gets dirty is to fold it up and stick it in the trunk...maybe still wet if you've been in rain. We used a bra for a year or so and got rid of it.

As you well know, after 90,000 Viper miles, we couldn't agree more Bill :drive:

Thanks. We may have a lot of road miles, but Bill & Diane get the trophy for days on the road / length of trip. That is an enviable accomplishment! ...and they have another 'little road trip' planned for this fall. I doubt there is anyone reading this that can match 26 days / 8400 miles in one trip.

Back on task.

We carry 2 cans of fix a flat and a plug kit. There is nothing goofier looking on a Viper than a donut.....or harder to deal with 'where to put the flat tire' when luggage is aboard. I would rather have the option of the fix a flat or plug kit (if possible to do) to get me to a tire place. We have participated in the donut option once before....after a Gingerman track day several years ago. It wasn't our car (and the tire was shredded), but a real hassle until Ralph Gilles made a special trip from Gingerman over to where we were ...to cart our friend's car back to Detroit on his trailer. EXTREMELY nice of him to do this as he was planning on spending the week end at Gingerman and went back to G-man after dropping the car off in Ann Arbor

The V1 is on the windshield 100% of the time

Nothing personal, but that is the LAMEST comment I think I have ever read on this forum. I simply could not disagree more. That comment COMPLETELY misses the point of Viper ownership. :dunno:

A 3,000 Viper road trip (and the time to do it) is SOOOOO compelling! Enjoy the trip! :2tu:

Someday....

I've done about 6000 miles on my Viper in 7 days. Actually did it 3 times. Twice in my old 03 and once in my 06 FE Coupe. Cannonball One Lap of America. The cars were great plus we got to race on different tracks every day. Agree on the plug kit and fix a flat. Bring duct tape and a small tool kit too.

Only thing I ever worry about is a flat. Get two things in that trunk. A can of fix a flat and a 12v air pump. The GenIV come with a similar kit but thats all you need in my opinion. Drive safe bring some sun screen if its a vert. Have a great time!!:2tu:

I make 1500 mile trips every couple months but have never done 3k or over. Comfortable car and nothing to really worry about. I'd love to go cross country one day. What you've done in preparation is good. As others have mentioned, carry a 'fix a flat' and V1 is a must.

Enjoy the drive and don't pay any attention to the naysayers on this thread. IT WILL BE FUN.

Report back with pics.

8400 miles?!?!?! Wow, that is one heck of a trip. Not sure I could do that long on the road in any car. The closest I got was to Florida and back which was 2500 miles and then the driving in Florida always resulted in 3000+ miles on each trip. Was some of the greatest times in the Viper!

Brake pads are in great shape

We are going rafting in Bryson City, NC. We will be at the Biltmore Wed July 1st

Plug in a Valentine V1.
Best money I ever spent on a radar, loved it on my last trip

Have a safe trip and hopefully you'll join the VCA one day.;)

Take Mark Jorgensen's and Chuck Tators phone numbers and put them in your glove box right now. Always good to have the number for Viper Techs with you just in case.
Check your windshield wipers to make sure they work properly and are in good shape.

Make sure and pack the dryer sheets to remove bugs.
