LOL yet another issue guys. thanks for help in advance. So my car started to have stiff steering when on idle and while warm. I also noticed that the car runs hotter than the usual. In the past two years I hvnt seen the temp gauge needle going past the center mark, no matter how hot it was outside or how hard I drove. Now the needle goes past the other quarter mark, and the cars steering becomes stiff at idle. So, I took it to my tech, arguably he suspected it was the ps pump, but I pointed out it might be the hydraulic fan to which I replaced the high pressure lines last year. ( there was a reason suggested that it might be that the fan is going, and cased the line seals going at the pump side). the strange thing was that both the pump shoed some visible flow, and fan seemed to blow air at idle. So I replaced the pump, took it for a short and spirited boot, and the steering seemed fine, but the temp was still up. then on the next restart 5 minutes later, there was no steering at all at any rev, and no visible flow in the pump. I don't think we broke new pump with in the first 10 min of driving... The question is is there any way for a fan to cause this? I don't want to continue swap expensive parts....

thank u guys

Prolly steering gear. Rack n pinion

If the rack and pinion was gone, wouldn't the power steering never work? cold or hot car? The steering works fine till the car warms up, and then there is no visible fluid flow in the ps reservoir.
