Need Some Maintenence Help with '95 1st GEN

Congrats on your Viper! Adjusting the gaps between the hood and the front fascia can be very tedious. Typically something you should plan some more time for, requires lots of patience, too (that's at least my experience). In my case, re-shimming did not lead to the result I was looking for. I...

What special Viper do i have? Strange GTS Combination

Actually, official Euro Vipers were labeled "Chrysler Viper". Also, they came with an additional indicator on the side of the hood (like yours). Your car is just a heavily modded car. None of the mods are factory mods.

    Premium sound upgrade query

There's a whole lot of info on how to do it here. Just search for "DIN connector". It should bring up a bunch of threads on how to connect a newer head unit. BTW: the adaptor can be made by yourself quite easily, provided you have some experience in soldering fine wires :-)

Interview with New York Times and I got to sneak in a Viper picture

Thanks for sharing! My father (78yrs) had the surgery this year. But it was his decision, he was informed about the method of active surveillance by his doc but he wanted to have a surgery to get it removed. Luckily, his physical constitution was allowing him to go this route. I think he...

Gen2? Must read this. Thanks Jon B. I

I just ordered a complete new hinge... I might be trying to fabricate a replacement spring by myself once I have removed the old hinge and can play with it. I already have a piece of spring steel in the same width and thickness that "just" needs to bent and cut to the OEM dimensions. I know...

    Door panel removal??

I don't think so. The door cutouts are smaller. I would be surprised if they drop right in. But let's wait for your speakers and we will see...

    Door panel removal??

The metal grill is just pressed in and sits tight enough. As for your new set they are really shallow so no issue with mounting depth. Question remains regarding their diameter. ...

    Door panel removal??

Typically, the baskets of most 6.5" woofers are a bit too large in diameter to drop right into the cutout of the door panel. Depth can also be an issue and woofer might hit the glass. OEM woofer grill cannot be used and new grill will not fit flush the cutout. Here's how I did it: I used the...

    Door panel removal??

Changing the tweeter requires removal of the door panel. What aftermarket speakers did you get? The OEM woofer is of an odd size so many aftermarket 6.5" will not fit well the opening in the door...some modifications are required in many cases.

    Quick subwoofer replacement 2000 RT/10

Do you think you have "real" bass? I have played around with the stock location between the seats and different speakers. None of them was able to deliver what I would call real bass. Main reason for this as I believe is, that there is no enclosed volume for the driver in the OEM Location. I...

New rubber for the old snake

Sure, we'll work something out ;-) I think 17" Michelin are more expensive than 18". Also, my prices did not include mounting & balancing. Here's a pic of the new-to-me 18" wheels...

New rubber for the old snake

I paid 197,- € per front tire, but 18" (Michelin PS2). As for the rears (18") I got both together for 350,- €! But that was a VERY special deal.... When I got my Viper 3 years ago it had new PS2's on the rear wheels and old Kumho All Seasons (!!) on the front wheels (all 17"). First thing I...
