Based on reliability (and performance) I would at least consider an Elan over a Radical. Go visit Brent at Performance Tech in west Hollywood. They must have a dozen cars at Sebring this weekend for Winterfest including the Elans that qualified 1st and 2nd in a 90 car field in yesterdays enduro.
I had a buddy of mine at Sebring yesterday who said that Kuno put a set of Michelin slicks on a stock ACR and was somewhere around a 2.15 which would make the ACR-X about 6 seconds a lap faster on a 3.7 mile track. Same driver/same tires. I wish I had a little more information on how much time...
WOW!! I heard that in the hour and a half enduro today the ACR-X qualified 4th behind only 2 Elans and the Riley Track Day car (which is pretty damn fast). It was also faster than all the Comp Coupes present as well as all the Porsche Cup cars! Very impressive to say the least...
Don't know about Virginia but Florida doesn't charge sales tax on trade in value. I figured all states treated trades the same as Florida but I guess not. What a scam! On the other hand, you do have VIR in your back yard! :D
This is the same shop that works on my car. They are a great group of guys who do some very professional work. Joel Feinberg (the driver of the Viper) is a pretty good driver who just won the IMSA Lites championship. They are doing the best they can in this series but the rules really don't...
I'm in Colorado now and probably won't make it back for any of the August Sebring events. I've missed all the Safe Motorsports events this year. How is the club doing?
Does anyone know exactly what carbon fiber covers you would need to convert an ACR to a ********? What am I missing? Yank out the stereo/nav., door speakers, sub woofer, hatch carpeting, metal battery cover. Anything else? Is there a "carbon fiber cover" kit one can purchase?
Yeah I know...
