That would be ridiculous. Figure 6:45? Sure would do an interesting number on the Ferrari 599XXX. 'Course the 599XXX is a "one off" "production car" and although you could buy it $1.2 million bucks, you're not allowed to take it home and probably not allowed to drive it? Yet Ferrari says...
Sorry, but you're incorrect.
At the SRT tech session I attended we were informed that GM DID go back to the ring and tried running sport cups on their ZR1 to beat the ACRs time. Of course you didn't hear about that failure, did you? I heard a rumor. Anyway, the ZR1 did get PS2s and GM...
Sean Roe helped me learn how to tune the Vec. When I logged it he would write me a program to adjust timing and mixture and I could open the email, unzip and load it into my Vec with my laptop. I eventually got tired of being a PIA to Sean and started doing my own tuning and only use Sean for...
I think that Nitrous is perfect for occaissional speed contests. Nitrous make a constant hp and that is not related to engine rpm. 5th gear speed contests using Nitrous work past the TOO High 5th gear and add full power even though the engine is running lower rpms than it should.
A...
Macedo Motorsports installed a custom Nytrex system in my 2000 ACR to compliment my Paxton powered engine. +200rwhp when the Nitrous gets turned on. To be safe you would probably be much better off to get an experienced Tuner (like DC Performance or Macedo Motorpsorts) to at least design the...
Jon always hands out a lot of support and prizes for many Viper chapters and events. I've handed out pens and other free presents at Wstrn Cda events and ....... I won a Dodge Ram watch and THE new Belanger Headers at VOI!
I also save money buying headgaskets, EBC brake pads, etc. from JonB
Everyone that hasn't taken at least 1 high performance driving course doesn't know what they are talking about and doesn't know enough to drive a Viper at speeds more than the legal speed limit and no stunting.
As JonB said, "Driving school". It's the only way to practise and learn what they...
JonB makes excellent points, if budget is a consideration Jon's suggestion is probably the best one.
Only other thing not mentioned is Nitrous Oxide, but it is really impractical except for the racetrack. Massive hp really cheap, but only for a few seconds at a time.

I do all of my own work after buying my cars. I am not the greatest at tuning and will eventually go to a Pro tuner (like DC Perf) once I'm finished.
The Paxton should come with a rough tune and the tune shouldn't matter until about 3,000rpm so you could drive it to DC Performance gently...
The Bellangers I just won at VOI 11 (thanks JonB and Lou B) are coated inside and outside for heat dispersal NOT into the engine compartment. Edelbrocks historically are painted.
You could send them in and get them coated, but I'm not sure if that would probably ruin the emissions...
Roe TS supercahrger will satisfy your lust for torque. My Paxton drives like a Gen4 with 600rwhp. Nice and soft, easy to control and even a car that someone could drive without crashing it. Wife likes the Paxton best.
My Roe is loud, runs very rough at idle and has full power at 2,000rpm...
Keeping in mind that since these cars are older now the condition is important. An idiot would buy a Viper with old tires, whereas a smart guy would cut a thousand (at least) for any older tires than PS2s.
Older tires are OK unless you want to drive the car.
I used the stock steel exh. gask. As 1tony1 said, they are reuseable. For reuse a thin film of red (hitemp) silicone would help but probably not necessary. The modern thick flanges really make headers reliable. I'd retighten the bolts after a few heat cycles to maintain integrity of the...
