I had a scratched up silver 1 in my 05'. Had it painted yellow last summer. Not thrilled with appearance (to much yellow inside) but it was an easy sand and paint for a local body shop.
Like everyone else I get this question all the time. Response depends on how they ask. Also met a number of guys who have a brother in-law, friend or somebody that has a "faster" car then the Viper. Must be the cruise nights I go to.
I work with a couple of track day HPDE organizations as an instructor in New England. We do not get paid so there is no cost to the participants beyond the track day. Take a ride and then drive with an instructor. You'll learn a lot in short period of time making your experiences much more...
You can service it yourself for a lot less. My dealer charges $79.99 for the service. I know we use full synthetic and pretty sure it requires 8 quarts of oil. That's $40 for oil and $10-$12 for a filter to do it yourself.
Took out my MGW knob and replaced it with a Dave' Viper shop shifter adapter and a Delrin shift knob from Product Innovations
Nice feel. Easy installation
I've got about 400 miles on a new set of Super Sports. Not sure if my comparison is fair. Had about 5 year old PS 2's when I bought my car. Drove them a couple hundred miles
and replace with SS when I bought new wheels. As noted above they hook and hold much better than the PS 2's.
Just took the original out of an 05' with 38K. Didn't sound to strong when I started the car. Recently bought the car used and didn't want to risk getting stuck due to an $80 battery failure.
