I posted on this months ago, but one big point is that the engines are much lighter than the typical Merc big block, particularly ones with blowers. Also, at 600 FT/LB the torque is very good for a 505 CI engine. Both these things are very important in a lightweight cat. I just saw more...
John Myrick - Yes, One Lap, thanks for the correction. I do not believe that price had anything to do with the choice of the Vette for the One Lap event. The engine in that car cost so much that price can't even remotely be an issue.
Ron still has the GTS he won in previously, and it even...
YouWish - If a Z0-6 doesn't have a prayer against a GTS, why did a certain popular GTS owner switch to a Z0-6 for this years Cannonball when he wanted to get another win??
(and did, by the way)
To me, the view forward over the fenders of the SRT-10 looked remarkably like the view over the fenders of my 1970 Corvette Convert, so it doesn't surprise me that the front of the SRT and C6 would look similar if the C3 was supposed to be the inspiration.
I do think the rear view is truly...
Re: How\'s a 3000 pound Viper sound....
I just looked at the Carrara GT specs posted earlier and at 3042#, if you leave the tops at home & pull the spare tire, you're under #3000. Also, 600+ HP out of 350 cu in is pretty good.
Re: Why does
Russ, Why would the Viper kick the Carrara's Butt?? I don't think the Porsche would run away and hide from the Viper, but 560? horsepower, mid engine handling and ceramic composite brakes should be enough to take a Viper. I would think the weight distribution should give the GT...
Re: Why does
I assume they don't give it good reviews because they honestly don't like it as well as they like other cars they test. I really don't believe that they are lieing in their reviews and withholding praise from the Viper that they really believe it deserves.
The Viper is a...
Re: How\'s a 3000 pound Viper sound....
Porsche Boxster is also under 3000#, assuming you don't want the auto trans. And the 3.6 litre engine fits just fine & won't raise the weight.
The SRT could loose a bunch of weight very easily with things like lighter wheels/tires, seats, and...
Anyone w/ a picture of the driver side center tunnel mounting bolt installed, I would really appreciate a picture, if you can't post one, please e-mail to me at [email protected] if you would.
Thank's in advance!
Can Bob Pommer or someone else who has mounted the eyebolts for harness mounting points please post a picture of the actual mounting point on the drivers side center console position? It would help immensely to actually see where the bolt screws into the console as far as determining where to...
One thing I wondered about is if the seat will move forward due to the slope of the bulkhead behind the seat. it would seem that as the seat moves down, it will also have to be located slightly forward of it's rearmost stock location. This is troubling to me as in the SRT I have the seat all...
