How much of a financial “burden” has your GTS been?
IMO, they're 25+ year old cars so you can either find one really well kept and maintained and pay up front, or aim for a driver and upgrade everything old along the way. New 99 RT/10 owner, few questions on issues/coilovers.
A few more updated pics. Over the winter I finally splurged on the 285/30/19 345/30/19 tires I knew would set the look right. Radiator fan upgrade.
For anyone who is looking into this, the OEM gen 2 is pretty much unobtanium. My 99's went out last month and I spent a week sourcing through a bunch of used ones for $500-1100. Making a purchase. Gen 1 or 2.
You could easily get a gen 2 RT10 for cheap and have the best of both worlds. You get windows, top, AC, more power, better chassis etc, yet still far cheaper than GTS money. RT10 is more thrilling at all speeds IMO but less practical.- ViperFan1

Which gearing is the best all around…3:55 or 3:73 (1997 GTS)
I have the 355/30/19's on my rear also with stock gearing and both performance wise and visually it kind of bothers me, so rather than jumping straight to gears I'd like to go to 345/30/19's first. Gen 2 headlight replacement recommendations
Depends on the HID bulb. Look up the bulb type and search recent comparisons on YouTube. Generally the higher end Osram, Phillips, etc test the best.- ViperFan1

Backup Camera Recommendations
Initially the shop wired it coming out the underside by the frame and then into the trunk, but that quickly melted the wire near the header. Then they wired it correctly through the interior under the center console and then back to where the wire look connects from the cabin into the trunk...- ViperFan1

Tach Slow / Lagging
I had this issue last summer on my 99. Went through so many different things and 3 different shops to check the car over, fuel pump, filter, O2's, wires, etc etc. Just ordered a new tach off eBay I think for like $140.- ViperFan1

Tested 2 Fog Lights from Morimoto as well as cheap and pricey low beam LED bulbs from Auxbeam and GTR Ultra

96 GTS recommendations for resonators
On a few other platforms I've been on, Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonators have been recommended. Just posting an update post winter on how it sits with BC coilovers, new suspension bushings, rebuilt headlights, stripe delete, etc. I have some 19" forged one piece wheels on the way and will update in another month. Not sure if things changed from 97 to 99, but for my 99 rt10 I bought a $55 key fob off amazon and it came with instructions.
