Well, I guess I mean is the ride punishing? I've had a fair number of 'super' cars and some were down right punishing on the road. My Z06 wasn't too much fun and my Ferrari Scuderia had it's moments (seats were really uncomfortable). Heck, my wife's bimmer takes potholes like a tank (damn...
Hey Bob
Quick question (I apologize in advance if this is elsewhere): How is the TA on regular roads, with the stiffer suspension...Have you driven a GTS or standard SRT as a comparison? Could this be a DD?
Thanks
Rob
Well, I hope you are right. I have an order on a 150k Stryker Red GTS and I really wanted it to be everything I was told it would be. I can only hope that everything is sorted out by the time customer cars are being made. It will certainly be hard for me to buy this car until there is a review...
Well, obviously SRT wasn't ready with this car. You release the car to the media/public when it is in its final version. Now, you have two major magazine giving a so-so review.
It still begs the question why give a pre-production car to the media, that's not been sorted and get bad PR. The last tweet I read was an apology to Richard Hammond for having to drive in uncomfortable seats for hundreds of miles. Does that make any sense?
Isn't all this "brake and tire" stuff a moot point. Ralph helped build his car already and whatever tires, brakes, and suspension are on his car will be on all the other cars for 2013. Can't any cars' performance be enhanced by changing these things out post production? If you peruse the Porsche...
Well, what I gleemed from Skanks (extremely informative) post is that the comparo was all above board, both cars driven at their respective limits...legitimate victory for ZR1. Viper could have had better brakes, tires, allignment...but didn't. That was the car tested and it lost, plain and simple.
The beauty of the 458, R8, ZR1, GTR... lies in their ability to be driven to the limit without worrying if your life insurance in paid in full. How far beyond the 'envelope' do you need to drive to 'close the gap'?
