I should begin by mentioning that this posting is my last resort in resolving a long standing problem with Archer Racing. One year ago I ordered a set of Door Jam Sill Covers from John Archer (approx. $550). It took many months and calls to John before he finally sent the product to Northtown Dodge. Northtown agreed to pay for the covers to cover the heat damage caused to the door jams. Both pieces were severely damaged so we sent them back. Many months then passed with numerous phone calls to John. After close to one year I asked John to refund myself or Northtown the cost of the covers. He repeatedly assured us that the check was in the mail. Northtown has placed many unanswered calls to John to expedite the refund that were unanswered.

I hesitated for months to expose this problem to the Viper Community. I don't know what else to do at this point but to warn other Viper owners of the problem. Be careful with Archer Racing.

Sorry. I wish that I would have been able to make this purchase somewhere else. Stay on top of your order, closely. Check out my car in the Spring issue of the Viper Quarterly Magazine on pages 11 & 42, yellow ACR.

I am confused. Why did the dealer pay for sills and then Archer's sills were damaged also??? Or were they damaged in shipping?

I owned a Red 97 GTS before this one. I've raced it at Watkins Glen, NY and a couple of 1/4 mile Drag Strips. Best time 12.2 seconds. We've been to VOI Nashville and look forward to VOI next year in Las Vegas. I know that it would be tough for you to attend a VOI but if at all possible do it. They're great and you meet a lot of great people. We're just waiting for the weather to break today and a group of us from NY are going to Canada to meet up with the Ontario Viper Club for a cruise. We're joing their club today also.

Damaged in shipping. Both pieces were cracked. The dealer agreed to pay for them to cover up bubbles caused from heat.

I've dealt with Archer Racing on a regular basis for the last three years and have been very pleased with their service and professionalism. I wasn't able to understand the problem fully from your account, but I would be very surprised if there wasn't another side to this story.

Actually there are 3 sides to every story. This story is quite simple to understand. I ordered parts and waited months to receive severely damaged parts. The parts were sent back and received. There was no attempt to send any more parts. John Archer said that he couldn't get any more of that part but would refund the payment amount. No payment was ever made.

Drive out to Mid Ohio next year in April for the Viper days event. You should be able to speak to him there if it is not settled by then!

When I get something via UPS that is damaged, it is UPS that has to pay, not the shipper. Did you complain to the shipping company?

Just want to mention that UPS covered a battery that I ordered (insured) that arrived damaged. It arrived in 100 pieces. Looked like intentional damage by a disgruntled employee or maybe it fell off the plane. Anyway, it only took a friggin year and 10 letters for me to get reimbursed, but they did pay.
