Re: Looks like this SRT-10 will sell in the $40\'s

Well that is interesting because he claims to be the first owner and sold it to the current owner...

"Unlike most of the vehicles I put on eBay, I have a personal history with this car: I was the first owner on this baby and took delivery of it on January 18th, 2003. That model year was available to a VERY select few - you had to be a current Viper owner, your car had to have been bought new, and purchased from a 5-star Dodge dealer. Even used Viper owners were not eligible to order a 2003. We just happened to fall into that category and took advantage of it. I sold this beauty to the current owner in the summer of 2004 and never had a lick of trouble with her. He bought the car in stock condition, but that didn't last long - he added these awesome Viper Silver stripes, a functional roll bar (unlike the cosmetic roll hoops on production cars), and much more. But don't take my word for it, see for yourself:

I think Y2K5SRT ran the listing for the current owner. Nothing strange there to me. Y2K was the original owner...sold it to a guy, and is helping him sell the car.

It is at $47k and does notyet meet th ereserve. I doubt that it will sell in the 40's as stated in the post title. Ebay is famous for the eleventh hour bidding increases.

It does mention that the car has been tracked - and it was tracked pretty hard which may also be contributing to the lower price.

That also explains the wear and tear on it. I'd want to check out that #3 rod bearing before I bought the car. Not that the warranty wouldn't cover it, but you know how these cars are...

Re: Looks like this SRT-10 will sell in the $40\'s

Now I get it. After reading further the words are less than reassuring.

"Now, you are asking yourself, well then why is the car priced so darn low?! Two reasons: The first is that the owner is VERY eager to sell this car as quickly as possible. He has a more "track dedicated" car he wants to buy ASAP. We fully expect somebody will hit the "Buy It Now" well before the auction ends (much like they did with the recent SRT-10 Coupe I listed). The second reason is that the car is a USED car. While it runs beautifully and gets all of the proper maintenance, it has participated in numerous photo shoots, cruises, lots of track days (Viper Days), parades, and everything else that a Viper enjoys. As a result there are chips on the front, scrapes under the fascia, a small hole in the underside hood pad, and bubbling paint by the exhaust outlets. The visors are in perfect condition - they were taken off of the car as the current owner is 6'6" and they got in his way. They come with the car. The car definitely needs a good detailing. You will find a few surface scratches as well, such as by the locally renowned decal on the back:"

"So is the car perfect? For the price you are stealing it, obviously not. Oh, it runs like an absolute champ (I personally wouldn't hesitate to drive it coast-to-coast) and it looks great (draws crowds like you would not believe). But if you are a perfectionist then this car is definitely NOT for you. Just plan on paying a lot closer to the $61,364 that the car books for to find anything even close to this one. Heck, for easily less than half the difference you could have this jewel in show-winning condition. If I were buying it back (wish I could!) I would get the front fascia and side sills repainted. I would also replace the hood pad (cheap) and probably slap some custom wheels on it (car has great tires but the wheels are showing their miles). This baby runs perfectly, looks great, and is 100% VIPER through and through. Don't let the fun-filled life it has led so far deter you from this beauty. There are a lot of cars that have seen far worse... "

Of course the picture with the babe may just sell it anyway :)

Actually, the wear and tear are surprising little for the amount of use this car has had. No off-track excursions that I know of and the car runs absolutely flawlessly. He tapes up the headlights and such when he goes to a local event (Viper Days stuff within 4-500 miles of KC):

The car is locally serviced and just went through a nice check up to fix some minor odds and ends (window motor that was noisy, tire pressure light reset, etc.). All completely under warranty, of course. The hood pad is the single ugliest thing on there and I am tempted to donate my spare just because it would look SO much better than what is on there (largely from rain water discoloring the sides).

I personally would buy this car back in a heartbeat if I hadn't just bought a new SRT-8 (and if I didn't have a Viper currently in Florida)! :2tu:

Oh yeah, and I have it on very good authority that the reserve is under $50K... :D

Maybe not strange but could be misconstrued as misleading to a potential buyer should they discover the particulars. Why take the chance???
Anyway, good luck to the seller(s)...

If I remember right this car had some of the best stock dyno numbers you'll see.

It's an amazing deal! I have seen the car in person many times and it looks to be in very good condition. Wish I had $50k burning a hole in my pocket.

I thought the 7/70 power train warranty was a one-time transferable?

Re: Looks like this SRT-10 will sell in the $40\'s

That car is a smokin deal! It's gonna sell too, 12 bidders, and it's at $49,900 now with the buy it now only 2k higher at 51,900. Even after hitting the buy it now button AND $1000-1500 or so in paint touch up of the fascia and side sills it's perfect for a grand total of about $53,000 Which is the lowest price I have heard of for a relatively low mile, undamaged car with extended waranty. Which is at least a $2000 added value, maybe more. So knock off another 2k for the warranty you DON'T have to buy and AFTER painting it to make it perfect you're in the car that now looks perfect with the full warranty for $51,000.

It would make sense that way but what I have seen on eBay over time is that people will bid close to the reserve (if disclosed) or buy it now price but once it gets close to the asking price, the bidding seems to stop or slow down significantly. I have been selling items on eBay for years and this always happenes with high priced items, whether it be a car or high end model car. Just my two cents. Only time will tell.

Re: Looks like this SRT-10 will sell in the $40\'s

The more dedicated track car he wants to buy is mine. The new owner will be getting one hell of a deal on my car. He saw it two weeks ago at Viper Days and was convinced before he left the track. I priced mine for quick sale so I can buy a Comp Coupe. This SRT10 is still a Very nice car and has been VERY well maintained. Whom ever is the successfull bidder will be getting a great deal on a great car.

Re: Looks like this SRT-10 will sell in the $40\'s

I'd be happier with a well maintained track car than a low mileage poser mobile that gets run hard when cold, has 14 coats of silicone based "tire shine" and 14 layers of faux carbon fiber stuck to the dash.

But hey, that's just me.

Wish I liked black cars - this is a SWEET deal. Virtually identical for a BRAND NEW car for $10's of thousands less. A GREAT driver. And a very nice, strong first year car, to boot!

Good luck to all!

Re: Looks like this SRT-10 will sell in the $40\'s

I got a sweet deal on my 2003 SRT10 and sold it with 8,000 miles last July for $60,000 and bought a new Mercedes Benz SL500. I felt the price fall was inevitable with the Coupe coming out and did not want to take a chance at losing the value I could get out of it by selling the car. I guess i made the right move.We still have an original 1992 RT10, 1998 GT2 and Comp. Coupe.

Gary you got a good price. Not bad. How do you like the SL500? What color? I had one and loved it. Just wish it came in stick.

Current bid is $49,900.00. Looks like it will hit over $50k.
